Description

Basaglar KwikPens 100 units/mL are a disposable single-patient-use prefilled pen containing 300 units (3mL) of Basaglar insulin.

Basaglar (insulin glargine) is a long-acting insulin that begins working several hours after injection and can work steadily for 24 hours. It has similar functionality of Lantus.

Insulin glargine is human-made insulin that is similar to that produced in our bodies which it effectively replaces. It helps blood sugar enter the cells so they can have energy.

Insulin glargine controls high glucose (sugar) and contributes well to a healthy diet and fitness program.

It is commonly used in adults and pediatric patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Ensure you are ordering the correct insulin, as insulin products can easily be mistaken for one another, as there are multitude of kwikpens, cartridges and vials on the market.

Do not share Basaglar KwikPens with other people, even if the needle has been changed. You may give other people a severe infection or get a serious illness from them.

Basaglar also provides insulin glargine in cartridges to load up your KwikPen.

When your sharps disposal container is almost full, you will need to follow your community guidelines for the right way to dispose of your sharps disposal container. There may be state or local laws about how you should throw away used needles and syringes.

Do not dispose of your used sharps disposal container in your household trash unless your community guidelines permit this. Do not recycle your used sharps disposal container.
